Nampak Bevcan Springs Vacancies – Senior Service Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Audit the condition of customers’ equipment and tooling and make recommendations for repairs or replacement thereof.
• Communicate and keep customers informed about any new products, new equipment and product development in the metal packaging industry.
• Ensure Bevcan components are compatible with customers’ lines and vice versa.
• Manage the effective utilization and costs of all tools and equipment relevant for the required customer technical services processes.
• Provide training, coaching and support to improve external customers’ skills and capability in the use of Bevcan products.
• To support Bevcan with the delivery of quality products and after sales technical support to external customers to achieve optimum performance on customers’ lines and an increase in sales for the Company.
• Apply the Operational Excellence Best Practices to all facets of the role.
• Conduct various customer audits to sustain can handling best practices, identify potential risks, establish root causes of customer complaints, highlight process gaps and develop improvement opportunities and solutions to resolve problems and improve customers’ outputs and quality.
• Provide technical support to external customers to improve can handling and filling processes.
• Manage the relationship between Bevcan and Customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Job Requirements:

• Familiarity with TRACC system or World Class operating systems will be an advantage
• Overtime requirements at short notice
• Strong interpersonal/communications skills, verbal and written
• 3 years’ work experience as a qualified artisan in FMCG environment
• Can and end making experience or FMCG work experience will be an advantage
• N6 and be a qualified Artisan – Fitter and Turner, Turner Machinist or Toolmaker
• Computer literate specifically on Word, Excel and Power Point
• 5 years can filling experience; 5 can and end manufacturing experience
• Competence and experience on ERP systems such as JDE, SAP etc will be an advantage
• Frequent travel to customers and Bevcan plants both nationally and internationally
• Manage the effective utilization and costs of all tools and equipment relevant for the required customer technical services processes.
