Job Description:

The Software Release Manager is responsible for providing release management coordination, support and assistance in all aspects of the application release approach. This includes assisting with communications, following-up on issues and risks and leading meetings to drive stakeholder decisions. The Software Release Manager drives the releases based on quality gates from scope freeze until deployment to production and post implementation review.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage escalations to support the releases
• Carry out the required quality checks and risk assessments on the individual components of a release
• Secure and organize the implementation resources needed to support a release
• Maintain a Release Calendar for our solutions / components
• Prepare all the required change requests for the release
• Attend the regular Change Management Boards
• Prepare the runbooks for a release, working with the appropriate project teams
• Manage releases for the projects
• Manage releases within scope, quality and time
• Uses standard program/project management tools and techniques appropriately
• Share best practices and project learning
• Be able to mobilize and manage support teams to resolve issues associated with a release
• Carry out post implementation reviews
• Responsibility for the management of medium/large releases and also functional domain (concurrent) release
• Ensuring the release-related work conforms to the DB quality standards

Job Requirements:

• Robust personality able to work calmly and well under pressure
• Good knowledge of the technologies being used – Java, Weblogic, Unix and Oracle
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Good knowledge of Release Management best practices
• 5 to 8 years of similar experience in large scale projects and products
