Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Long-Term Planner. The successful candidate will be involved in specify the requirements for completing approved work and ensuring that all required resources are identified before a scheduled shutdown. This is to enable the right work being delivered, safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Executing all planning duties in accordance with the AA Operating Model (IPOM)
• Ensuring that all resourcing orders are placed on time to avoid delays
• Ensuring that all work orders are returned upon job completion, capturing any associated commentary, and partnering with the resource coordinator to ensure all surplus materials / spares are returned
• Conducting detailed planning of all approved shutdowns specifying labour, tools, special tools and equipment or any other resources required to execute a shutdown safely, on time and to the right quality
• Ensuring detailed planning for a scheduled shutdown is completed at least 8 weeks prior to a scheduled shutdown
• Escalating should an upper cost limit be exceeded
• Ensuring that all required planning meetings takes place with required stakeholders present and ensuring the meetings are formalized
• Analyzing planning trends to identify opportunity for optimization or improvement
• Having sight and keep track of all long-lead components / items which requires ordering well in advance, such not to delay any shutdown
• Ensuring that detailed work orders are prepared and made available prior to work execution.
• Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to during the planning process roping in expert safety support where required

Job Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Scheduling or Project Management courses completed will be advantageous
• Project management and scheduling knowledge
• Grade 12 / Matric
• Basic reporting skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Experience working with ERP / SAP / planning software will be advantageous
• Computer literacy
• Trade Certification N4 (NQF Level 4) Mechanical or Electrical
• Experience in maintenance of Open Mine Machinery and/or processing plants
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in Mining operational environment
